Swim for fun, or swim to win at the 1st annual Monaco Swim Challenge on Sunday September 16th. Monaco Challenge continues its fun non-profit activities by presenting an open water swim in the Larvotto Marine Reserve. The event will raise funds for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, focusing on water safety for children with projects in both Monaco and all over the world.
The 4 kilometer course begins at Le Meridien Monte Carlo private beach and loops around the Larvotto beach rafts 6 times, with 2 hours allowed to complete the feet. Anyone can enter, and the swim can be for a serious win, or just to try out a few laps for support. Ironman swims are 3.8 kilometers, so the Monaco Swim Challenge presents a real athletic stretch to achieve a personal goal with this fun organized event.
“We wanted to have an event that lets participants choose their level of effort safely, supporting a wonderful cause, in a beautiful setting, and with a celebration party that’s open to everyone,“ says Monaco Challenge co-founder Layla Kashani. “Supporting charities should be personally fulfilling, andthe Monaco Swim Challenge lets people achieve a personal goal that’s fun.”
Participants can register to swim individually or in teams. Team swimmers can undertake the whole course, or do the laps as a relay, and there are training swims planned by Monaco Challenge to test out the course and prepare for the day. After the swim, there is a beach lunch party at Le Meridien where swimmers can join other supporters for BBQ food, drinks, and DJ music to celebrate the day. Tickets are available just for the lunch party for those who prefer to drink, eat, and dance on the beach to celebratethe swimmers achievements.
