Francois Hollande is an ‘idiot’
Karl Lagerfeld, the world-famous fashion designer who lives in France, has called the French president an “idiot” in reaction to Hollande’s new tax levies on the rich.

Speaking to fashion magazine Marie Claire in Spain last Friday, the outspoken German said in an interview: “This idiot will be as disastrous as Zapeto was.” He was referring to Francois Hollande, and likened the French president to Spain’s Socialist former prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
Lagerfeld, the creative director of Chanel, added: “"It's a disaster. He wants to punish (the rich) and of course they leave and no one invests. Foreigners don't want to invest in France and that's just not going to work."

. The eccentric designer lived for nearly a decade in the luxury Villa Ulysse in Monaco and is a well-known figure among the rich elite of the Riviera.

Hollande has come under increasing fire from the rich and business leaders after he raised taxation for companies and the wealthy in an effort to reduce France’s large public deficit.
