Ristretto_posterThe programme includes Membra Jesu Nostri by Baroque composer Dietrich Buxtehude, believed to be a mentor of JS Bach. Other more contemporary motets by Wolf, Messaien, Standford and Lauridsen will be performed by the choir which will be accompanied by the Ristretto instrumental ensemble (first violin, Peter Szüts). The concert will be conducted by Errol Girdlestone.

All profits go to the Lemuel Mission in Haiti.

Ristretto is a new musical form created in 2009 to provide a taste of concentrated music – essentially, music created for small formations and of many periods and styles. Ristretto combines instrumental music and singing, often providing mixed programmes where instruments accompany the voices or even play alone.
