The ABC of Sex on the Côte d'Azur

2010-06-21 16:11

Editions Gilletta, founded by photographer Jean Gilleta in 1880 - and since 2000 affilliated with the newspaper Nice Matin - is better known for its books on regional heritage, tourism and the environment.

So their latest publication, "The Côte d'Azur guide to sex" by Faustine Sappa and Bertrand Roussel, is going to raise a few eyebrows.

This book, which is printed in the form of a children's ABC with original drawings by Patrick Moya,  takes a glance at the region 'through the prism of its sexuality', the blurb on the back cover tells us.

Not only celebrities such as as Ève Ruggieri, Éric Zemmour, Axelle Parker and Éric de Montgolfier, but also captains of industry, cultural luminaries. politicians, artists, journalists, businessmen, and students have confided their opinions to this 'plain and easy guide'.  Set out in 26 chapters, one for each letter of the alphabet, each topic is linked to the illuminated capital designed by the illustrator, forming an 'Erotic Guide to the Riviera' from St-Raphael to Menton

Sea, sun and sex... an intoxicating glow, a pinch of nudity, a seductive look from behind designer sunglasses... the Côte d'Azur certainly enjoys a sultry reputation, and this book does nothing to discourage that view!
