Their two-day programme will encompass some of the finest and best known music by two giants of Russian classical music: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Sergei Rachmaninov.
For the first concert on 2 September, pianist Denis Matsuev will accompany the orchestra a performance of Tchaikovsky's famous Symphony no 6, the 'Pathetique' and Rachmaninov's stirring Third Piano Concerto. The following evening, devoted entirely to Tchaikovsky, features violin soloist Sayka Shoji, who will play two pieces the Violin Concerto in D major as well as the composer's Symphony No 4.
The concerts are organized by the Friends of Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra Association, and tickets are on sale at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco's ticket office.
