Citadelle Saint Elme is a fortress that was built in the 16th century by the decision of the Duke of Savoy. Its purpose was to protect Nice from invaders. Today, it is the home of the City Hall and the Museum Volti Boumeester-Goetz and it represents one of the most significant cultural heritage of Villefranche sur Mer.
