Sting's new tour includes a return visit to Monaco for a one-off concert at the Sporting Monte Carlo on 26 February.
One of the world's greatest solo artists for the best part of a quarter of a century, the singer/songwriter visited Monte Carlo last year as part of the summer's Sporting Festival - and he clearly can't wait to return, having specially added the Principality to the itinerary of his
Back to Bass tour.
The former front man of
The Police, Sting's musical style became instantly recognizable in hits such as Every Breath you Take, Roxanne and Don't Stand So Close to Me. His solo career made him even more of a household name, as he launched into a series of jazz and soul-inspired tracks that became among the best selling of all time, with a host of platinum and multi-platinum discs, and numbers including An Englishman in New York, Russians, Fields of Gold and Seven Days.
The rock legend, who celebrated his sixtieth birthday this October, is embarking on a Boston-to-Cape Town agenda that would be described as punishing for any other artist - especially in the wake of his recent worldwide Symphonicities tour - but he remains one of the most active singers on the global circuit, and like his music, as fresh and energetic as when he began his electrifying career.
