Monaco's Buddha Bar has opened, and after nearly a year of waiting, it seems that nightlife nirvana is here at last,

The new bar is part of a worldwide franchise which has seen fifteen other Buddha Bars set up in the world's top locations over the last ten years: From Moscow to Manila, Peking to Prague, the Buddha's influence has been gradually spreading. And with Moscow and New York in the frame, the Monte Carlo version was never far behind.

Yet despite its international flavour, the Buddha Bar is a quintessentially French concept, combining fine dining with specially produced ambient music. It was first founded fourteen years ago in Paris by Raymond Visan with DJ and club-owner Claude Challe, whose George V Eatertainment group is looking forward to opening their latest outlet in Monaco, under the direction of Casino owners, SBM.

Buddha Bar Paris

What can we expect?

The most striking aspect will be the decor. SBM's architects will be mingling the dramatic red-and-gold 'ident' of the Buddha Bar brand with existing structures. The bar will make use of the existing belle-epoque Casino cabaret with its oak panelling and stuccoed ceiling, and the new lounge area will be dominated by a four-foot high Buddha, specially constructed in Asia.

Like the other Buddha Bars, this €5 million development will feature a 160-seat mezzanine, and sumptuous fabrics, again in trademark red and gold. The old stairway entrance to the Cabaret will be reopened, along with access to two terraces and the Casino Gardens.

Teppanyaki, Sushi, Sezchuan ... the choice is yours

But the main draw will be the restaurant. Asian cuisine is a centrepiece of the Buddha brand, and SBM promise first-class dining, produced by a team of chefs especially trained at Buddha Bar Budapest.  With a superb menu of Japanese, Thai and Chinese food, you will not have to look far in the coming months for one of the finest dining experiences in town.

It would be very helpful if you make available on line your menu. The print is so small, and the menu so large it takes too long to sort out. If people knew what they wanted prior to sitting down it would save time and then people could continue to be mute, couples would gape silently at the 'GAY' play, talk rubbish, grope each other, or the highest form of civilization start texting another fool informing them that your eye liner is splayed. This would save you time so you could turn more tables, make more money to build more bizarre restaurants filled with vulgar and disgusting wanabees and hoooookers from every strata and sub strata of society. see you tonight and I'll give a big tip as long as I get the usual flippant and insensitive smug service. J'adore Buddha Bar parce que le Buddha est toujours la !!!
