Le Grill at the Hôtel de Paris
2010-08-31 20:12
Served by waiters in crisp white tie, and with a commanding view over
the Casino as well as Port Hercule, this renowned restaurant on the eighth
floor of the
Hôtel de Paris offers a galaxy of mediterranean
gastronomic dishes, including almost any kind of fish, including lobster and chargrilled sea-bream, perfectly
prepared in full view of the diners by Chef Jean Philippe Borro.
As well as its highly-reputed seafood, Le Grill offers a wide choice of meat dishes including grilled duck foie gras, poussin fourré and, in springtime, Pyrennean leg of lamb with a gratin of carrots and fennel (below). Non-meat dishes include linguini with white truffles, quince tart with apple and red onion and a superb risotto.
Take the special lift to the top floor, and you'll enter a place which perfectly blends modernity and tradition. The timeless chocolate, raspberry, or Grand Marnier soufflé served at the Hôtel de
Paris since 1898 is still on the menu, as are the wines, drawn from the
historic cellars which are some of the most extensive in the world.
Menus start at €68 for three courses and wine, with a la carte dining from €130 per person. Alternatively you can take a hand yourself and participate in a cookery class under the direction of one of the chefs - breakfast and lunch included - for €150.
