Avenue 31
2010-08-31 21:03
Located near the Grimaldi Forum, this modern brasserie with
minimalist decor has a comfortable covered terrace with views across
Avenue Princess Grace to the sea. We'd expected some road noise but the
terrace is sufficiently set back to avoid this. Our welcome was
exceptional - a waiter who was not only good but with personality too.
There
is a lunch menu (14 to 22 euros) and dinner (39 euros) or à la carte,
plus a good wine list. Specialities are fish and seafood with meat
dishes, pizzas and pastas available too - even 'fish and chips' - as well as
vegetarian options.
Specials of the day were pumpkin soup, pavé of
swordfish and pasta with octopus. The soup was
rich and delicious and served in sparkling white china. My companion
chose nine Gillardeau oysters and for mains, crunchy king crab whilst I had
shrimp & avocado salad with grapefruit & bacon, each served
with a tasty dressing and freshly baked focacce and wholemeal rolls.
Coffee was excellent.
We are a modern and dynamic brasserie situated in the
Grimaldi Forum district of Monte Carlo. Every meal is expertly prepared
by our skilled chefs whose main focus is to tantalise all of your
senses.
Avenue 31 is part of the award-winning group that includes La
Saliere and the Beef Bar. The restaurant can be tailored to suit your needs:
during the day it is an ideal location for cosy or business lunches and
in the evening, the warm and intimate atmosphere will charm couples and
groups alike.
