At the Bistrot Tartine, you can enjoy more than just a tartine ... and although the sign suggests that it's a breakfast place, this bistro is in fact an all-day gastro-paradise, open for lunch and dinner too, while night-owls will appreciate late openings on Fridays and Saturdays till 3 in the morning!
Proprietor Christelle Charron welcomes all guests personally, while chef Stéphane Chenneveau and his team serve gourmet food in the homely pinewood dining-room. The lunch menu at €15.80 is exceptional value: during the week, the following daily 'formules' are available:
Monday: Tuna Carpaccio with Mango; Apple/Roast Pork with Potatoes Gratin/White Chocolate
Tuesday: Brandade-Stuffed Piquillos/Spaghetti Mille-feuille with Salmon/Chocolate Cake
Wednesday: Marinated Salmon on Blinis/Chicken Fillet on a Creamy Risotto/Mille-Feuille
Thursday: Floating Island with Mussels, Cream Curry/Cobia Fillet, EggplantConfit/Caramel Panna Cotta
Friday: Gratinated Mushrooms with Ham/Pike Perch Fillet, Melted Leeks/Dessert of the Day
But of course all dishes can be tailored to your choice with a la carte additions such as sea urchins with caviar, lobster or fillet of beef, and sweet and savoury crepes (though the final bill is likely to be far more sweet than sour!)
