Following the recent snowfall and temperatures low enough to produce artificial snow, the ski resort of Auron is open continuously from Saturday 4 December, followed by the opening of the entire resort.
Situated on the doorstep of the Mercantour National Park at a height of 1600m, Auron offers a
great skiing experience in a protected environment only an hour and half
away from the Riviera. Over the last 70 years it has grown into a popular holiday destination, offering modernity and comfort
without sacrificing the intimacy and special feel of the historic village at the foot of its exhilarating slopes.
Skiers of all ages can enjoy great snow and sun in a family resort with over 135 km of pistes divided into four sectors: Las Donnas, Sauma Longue,
Demandols and Lieuson. Snow cannons are on hand to generate perfect conditions, while the beautiful slopes
800m above the station are divided into 42 pistes and an adrenalin-fuelled
snow park.

Auron also offers a great choice of cultural activities. The historic village of St Etienne de Tinée with its painted chapels and traditional housing is directly linked to the ski area via the Pinatelle cable car. And for enthusiasts of the natural world,
the Mercantour itself is, of course, an important wildlife reserve.
The Tourist Office of Auron offers excellent ski packages starting
at €160 per person for a two nights stay (half board) and 3-day
pass for Auron ski paradise and its 21 ski lifts (not available on
Fridays and Saturdays, and during school holidays).
