6th International Ice Hockey Tournament

2010-12-20 12:08

What: 6th Monaco Junior International Ice Hockey Tournament
Where: Stade Nautique Rainier III
When: Sunday 26 December to Thursday 30 December

The ice rink which for the winter season temporarily replaces the outdoor swimming pool next to Port Hercule is being put to sterling use in the coming weeks. Following last week's exhilarating performance by the Chinese Imperial Circus, it continues to be open most days for ice skating.

And from Boxing Day until the end of the year, the same venue will be home to the 6th Monaco International Ice Hockey Tournament. The competition, under the patronage of Prince Albert II, will be fought out by junior teams from eight competing nations, including Russia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Canada, Switzerland, Italy and France.

The 34 scheduled meetings over four days will give all the young sportsmen and women, aged 13-15 years, the perfect opportunity to play high-level competitive hockey, as always, under the banner of 'fair play'. The winning team will receive a special trophy from HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. But the real treat for all will be the chance to soak up the fantastic atmosphere of the Monaco Christmas village, to the accompaniment of cheerleaders!
