Throughout the winter, the resorts north of Monaco provide an endless range of activities including skiing - both downhill and cross-country - skijoring, snowboarding, and skating.
Pistes range in difficulty from green (easy) to black (diabolical) and you have a wide choice of locations among some of the most stunning scenery that Europe has to offer.
Facilities
The resorts are centred on picturesque mountain villages which offer a complete range of après-ski opportunities, restaurants and hotels; and equipment can be hired at very reasonable rates.
Getting there
All the resorts are accessible by car and lie about two hours' drive due north of the Principaility, but it may be a more reliable option to take the helicopter, which cuts journey times considerably.
