With its big new retrospective,
Mélange, the cutting-edge Galerie L’Entrepôt in Monaco brings together forty of the works of some of its most productive and talented recent exhibitors.
The title of the current show is well chosen. As well as the mixture of influences and styles, visitors to the gallery will experience a blend of international art, with pieces from the Ukraine, Korea, Germany, Romania and Italy rubbing shoulders with those of Monégasque artists such as New York-based
Caroline Bergonzi, who last year exhibited her apocalyptic paintings and here displays some of her powerful and graceful metalwork:
Numerous techniques and genres are represented, from painting and photography to graphic design and sculpture. And with hyenas nuzzling up to geisha girls, and a pop-art Mona Lisa casting her clownlike smile on a pyramid of frowning Lenins, this is less Entrepôt, more Melting-pot of some really outstanding contemporary art.
Culture Shock, by street artist Mr One Teas
No fewer than 21 artists are represented, including street artist
Benjamin SPaRK, who had a solo exhibition not long ago,
Thomas Modschiedler, whose colourful canvasses were shown last month, and
Maxime Peregrini, whose photographs of the Mercantour region proved a big hit back in November. If you missed any of last season's exhibitions, now's your chance to pay
a visit to this extraordinary universe of form and colour, and get them
all in one go!
