Businesses large and small wlll be flocking to Geneva in a month's time to spy out the latest offerings at EBACE, the Business Aviation showcase, and many will be looking for that particular combination favoured by all entry-level buyers: dependable, flexible and affordable business-jet options.
One plane that will be making headlines is the CJ-NewGen from Monaco-based
Jet Alliance International. A longstanding member of the National Aircraft Resale Association, JAI sources CitationJet aircraft and refurbishes them for the business market. Importantly in these budget-conscious times, the CJ-NewGen sports a price tag less than half the cost of new.
But this isn't simply a question of a spruce-up and a lick of paint. In collaboration with Duncan Aviation, the aircraft is completely stripped and refinished with highsolids primers and paint; and as well as custom upholstery, hand-crafted leathers and carpets, the plane is acoustically and thermally insulated as new. The cockpit becomes a showcase for the most advanced avionics (including the latest enhanced alert and warning systems), and to cap it all, a professional designer monitors every phase until completion.
But when all's said and done, it's the plane itself, powered by twin Williams FJ44 turbofans
