New motor yachts to debut in 2010
Of the 100 superyachts on display the
Monaco Yacht Show this September,
around 30 were delivered in 2010 and, another 24 launched in 2009,
meaning that half the craft on show are less than a year old. All are
offered for sale and/or hire by the exhibiting brokers and shipyards.
The shipyards take advantage of the extraordinary opportunity offered by the Yacht Show to unveil their very latest craft. Notable among these is
the preview of Perini Navi
's first motoryacht,
M/Y Exuma, a superb 50m explorer yacht (below) built by the Italian shipyard in
collaboration with Vitruvius Ltd and French naval architect Philippe
Briand, whose distinctive 'BOS' hull is bound to attract interest.
The Dutch Amels shipyard's
M/Y Bel Abri (52.3m) launched last April will also be presented for chartering to the MYS's clientele; architect Tim Heywood drew inspiration from the generous curves of 1930s Italian sports cars and the design of
higher category yachts to create this spacious, comfortable superyacht.
