Following an exciting showcase at Nice’s Aston La Scala Hotel last Thursday, Monaco-based bridal brand, Nordic Angels, have launched their stunning third collection of gowns for the 2019 Spring/Summer season.
Founded by renowned designer Marketa Häkkinen, Nordic Angels revealed 15 new dresses in what is a move away from the boho-chic theme that epitomised the luxury brand’s second collection, and towards a more elegant, romantic feel that symbolises the love that lies behind every ‘once upon a time’.
Created using a melange of lace, tulle and organza fabrics, Marketa’s latest sumptuous collection features themes of light and volume, whilst still featuring two best-selling designs, from her previous collection of dresses which she affectionately refers to as “Angels”.
“This collection is me; it blends fairy-tale elements and romance,” explains former professional dancer Marketa. “My brides like to be sexy but comfortable enough to move around. The idea is to give them the possibility to adapt the gowns they choose, to add length or change the colour”.
While many brides seek three dresses for their big day – one for the church wedding, the registry office and the evening celebration, the beauty of Nordic Angels gowns is that they are designed to be worn for all three key moments of a woman’s most special day.
Along with the versatility of the brand’s dresses, the affordable price-tag is another feature that attracts accolades from across the Riviera. Acknowledging that many people cannot afford a luxury lifestyle, Marketa has priced her custom-made creations between €1,000 and €2,500 (also available in USD and GBP), meaning they appeal to a huge audience.
“I see them moved to tears and I love that part,” she says. “There’s a more emotional bond between the bride and me. I see the bride is happy with my work and that makes me happy.”
If that wasn’t enough for the talented Czech, the new bridal collection coincides with the official opening of a Nordic Angels Salon in Mandelieu La-Napoule on the French Riviera. Showcasing all collections from the brand, each customer can choose a custom-made dress within a maximum time-frame of eight weeks.
Two years after her first wedding gown collection was launched in 2017, Marketa’s ethos remains the same; to feel confident and beautiful on the most important day of your life is what influences every Nordic Angels design.
