Cannes is the celebrity town of the French Riviera and it has become the go-to destination for festivals and events. Despite its relatively small size and population, Cannes’ central position and pretty seaside setting draw hundreds of thousands of industry professionals and sailing enthusiasts alike for a busy calendar of annual events. The place everyone congregates is the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, a convention centre at the western end of the famous Croisette promenade. If you’re flying into the Côte d’Azur for a congress or event, a Nice – Cannes helicopter charter makes it easy to reach all the Palais des Festivals’ events from the airport – in safety and comfort and without the risk of traffic delays.
Cannes Yachting Festival
The next exciting event to take place at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès is the Cannes Yachting Festival, which will be held from September 11thto 16th. The world’s best shipyards and brokerages gather to showcase yachts up to 55 metres in length in the bay of Cannes next to the Palais des Festivals. Eventssuch as the Concours d’Elegance will also return to display a unique parade of vintage and modern-day boats.
The show has established itself as one of the most important gatherings in the yachting industry with plenty of yacht debuts, cutting-edge water toys and marine accessories. This year alone there will be 600 boats, including 120 world premieres. Yet there is also a focus on the luxury lifestyle and the Maserati lounge will play an important part at the festival as attendees can view the latest car models from the luxury marque, which is the Festival’s official partner.
