Monaco Yacht Show will return to Port Hercules from 25th to 28th September 2019 for the ultimate event devoted to the world of luxury yachting. The show will unite leading names in yachting including naval architects, designers, shipyards, tech and marine suppliers, tender and toy manufacturers and superyacht buyers.
Enhancements to the show format include a refurbishment of the Upper Deck Lounge over two floors, more displays of tenders and toys, and an adjustment of opening hours from 11am to 7.30pm to correspond better to visiting times preferred by private clients, alongside morning conferences and media yacht visits.
Cityout Monaco spoke to a handful of yachting companies who’ve made MYS 2019 a firm fixture on their events calendar.
Based in Monaco with representation in Europe, USA and the Caribbean, Zytexx is renowned for receiving glowing testimonials for their service and ceramic protective coatings from superyachts such as M/Y Sarafsa, M/Y Grace E and M/Y Lady Kathryn V, just to mention a few. Michael Pass, Director of Zytexx, concurs that the Monaco Yacht Show is a superb strategic business facilitator for the superyacht sector. “The show attracts all key players within the marine industry who are essential to our company, including shipyards, technical staff and superyachts. There are excellent opportunities during the week to highlight the benefits of our industry-leading proprietary Zytexx Ceramic ClearCoats.”
The allure of the greatest vessels in the world is what sets the show apart making it second to none. During the Monaco Yacht Show there’s always ample time for socialising and relaxed networking with over 100 private events held over the 4 days. “Every year we host our ever expanding annual Zytexx MYS cocktail party at La Rascasse,” continues Michael. “It’s our chance to show our appreciation and thanks to clients, Captains and industry partners – and it’s a great opportunity to wind down and relax during an intense week!”
Aside from the busy atmosphere on the quays during the day and night, there’s always standout superyachts in attendance. Delivered in 2017, Lürssen-built M/Y Amadea is listed for sale with Imperial and certain to stir interest at the show with features such as an eight-cabin layout including private owner’s deck, onboard cinema with D-Box seats, wine cellar and humidor on the Tank Deck and a lower deck spa with a Moroccan-inspired lounge. Abeking & Rasmussen’s 79.95m M/Y Excellence will command serious media attention at Port Hercules with her striking reverse bow and exterior/interior by Winch Design.
Miles Cantley, Creative Director of Viveur ‘Artisans of Ambience’, is excited to return to Monaco for another anticipated event. “This year, we have a demonstration of our powerful fragrancing technology at Monaco Yacht Show in partnership with YachtCloud; visit us at Stand DS10 in the Darse Sud exterior area. We’ll be welcoming guests to visit the stand to experience the unique power of the Omniyon entertainment platform combined with lighting and fragrancing, to create a complete ambience concept.”
Announcements are aplenty when visiting the show. Cockwells will unveil their Air-Sport 7.0 tender design with sun pads and sociable seating layout, Damen will showcase 45m Joy Rider with a touch-and-go helipad and plenty of room for toys, while over at the Car Deck exhibition zone on Quai Antoine 1er expect to see The Heritage Collection by Overfinch, who will make their worldwide debut at the show with customised versions of iconic Land Rover and Range Rover models.
Sam Thompson, Commercial Director at JMS Yachting and Co-Founder of JMS Crew, agrees that the show is the biggest and most important event in the market. “This is our fourth year as an exhibitor; we’re located at Stand DS70 in the Darse Sud zone. Each year, we look forward to Monaco Yacht Show as it attracts the decision-makers in the industry all in one place.” His comments echo many exhibitors who appreciate that having staff on the ground at Port Hercules is essential to business growth.
Sam adds, “For us, we look forward to speaking to industry professionals about how we operate our yacht management and our focus on career paths that look beyond fast solutions in crew recruitment. Networking is at a high level and we find the show vital for building long-term partnerships.”
Boasting exhibitors from around 40 countries, Monaco reigns supreme as the quintessential show for commercial partnerships to be forged. As well, it’s a drawcard for yacht and private jet owners who have a penchant for global itineraries that venture much further than the Mediterranean or Caribbean milk runs.
Australian-based Daniel Bruntsch, Global Head of Marine at BROMIC Heating, is optimistic about furthering discussions with the world’s leading shipyards and designers. “BROMIC was launched in 1978 and our Red Dot™ and Good Design Award™-winning outdoor heaters have found success with high-profile brands such as Ritz-Carlton, Hilton and Sheraton. Our Smart-Heat™ solutions are a reflection of extensive customer feedback, R&D and engineering that has been developed at our headquarters in Sydney,” confirms Daniel.
“Our high-quality Platinum Smart-Heat™ Electric outdoor heaters have different ceiling mounting options and have been installed on M/Y GO on the owner’s deck and M/Y Cloudbreak, and we’re proud to see our heaters on Benetti’s 63m M/Y Metis which will be moored at the show,” says Daniel. “Monaco Yacht Show is a fantastic event to publicly launch products and connect with innovators in yachting. We’re exhibiting our new marine heating products at Stand DS89 in the Darse Sud pavilion, ready to meet international clients and owners who desire outdoor heaters that are designed and manufactured for marine environments.”
Indeed, Monaco Yacht Show funnels attention beyond an epicentre of yacht ownership and chartering, whereby visitors can engage with international exhibitors representing the crème de la crème of luxury products, private aviation, prestige vehicles and superyacht lifestyle.
